Hi, thanks for looking us up! My name is Rob Bartlett and I am the founder of RBA Machinery and Tools. I am a time served engineer with over 30 years experience teaching Design & Technology in secondary schools in Lancashire as a class teacher, Head of Department and Assistant Headteacher. We deal in the purchase and sale of used workshop tools, machinery and equipment.
We purchase workshop machinery and tools from schools, colleges and universities, as well as private house and garage collections and wherever possible relocate these into other education establishments where students would benefit. We can give you an honest appraisal and quote for any items free of charge, with payment prior to, or on the day of collection and professionally remove machinery safely by higher level DBS cleared staff. We then clean these items and restore when neccessary, offering them for resale (or exchange in the case of education establishments) through our website.

How do I arrange a valuation for items I want to sell?
Simply contact us using the mobile number, WhatsApp or email details on the contacts page. If using WhatsApp or emailing, include some information about the items you wish to sell and if possible send images of the items. We will normally respond within 24 hours. From this point we can give you a valuation and written quote. Following this, we can arrange collection if you are satisfied with the quote. Unlike selling privately there are no fees, no pressure and no wondering who may be turning up or if they turn up!
Can items be collected at weekends / outside of normal working hours?
Yes! Collection days are usually Tuesday to Thursday, with weekend and evening collection by appointment.
Can delivery for items I buy be arranged?
You can collect from us, or we can arrange postage. For larger machinery such as lathes we are able to offer a courier service to UK mainland. For deliveries to the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland please contact us. We currently do not accept orders from elsewhere outside of the UK.
What if there is a problem with a product I ordered?
All products are tested before leaving the workshop to check they are in working order. Those items sold as spares or repair, or ‘as seen’ (some customers want to renovate machinery themselves or use them for spare parts) are outlined as such. We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with clients, so if there are any issues at all with any purchase from us rest assured we will do our best to sort it!
